Updos Are SO Versatile

We love fully-up hairstyles for brides and their bridal parties for many reasons, with one of them being their versatility! When brides come into our studios for their wedding hair trial, they typically have a few inspiration photos to share with us. Sometimes brides know exactly what they are looking for when it comes to their wedding day hairstyle, and others are open to a few different options!

Here's an example: Let's say you are torn between three differently styled updos. When you come in for your trial, your artist will provide a thorough consultation at the beginning of your trial and will essentially break down each of your inspiration photos! By determining what is jumping out to you in each updo inspiration photo, your artist will then be able to create a unique style that meets your expectations, but that is also custom to you!

While our artists will also provide the same consultations and customizations for half-up and fully-down hairstyles, there is just something extra special (to us) about creating a totally unique bridal updo. Updos are truly versatile and artistic hairstyle choices for brides; keep reading for more reasons we love updos for brides on their wedding day!

Updos For Every Season

We're going to say it, updos are THE most reliable hairstyle choice (when factoring in weather) year round. Whether your wedding day is chilly, hot, raining, or perfect weather, you can rest assured that your updo will remain fully intact.

We especially encourage our summer brides to consider pinning some or all of their hair fully up. For example, if you're getting married during the warmest time of the year, odds are you will be sweating and, depending on the location of your photos, the sun will probably be shining down on you at some point on your wedding day. The last thing you want to deal with on your big day is wearing your hair down and it sticking to you or others! We know we're not painting the most beautiful picture, but trust us, you'll be so thankful you decided to wear your hair fully up.

Winter wedding updos are always a fabulous choice in our book! There is something extra romantic about winter weddings, they're so cozy! If you're planning on wearing any type of wrap or shawl, you may want to consider wearing an updo so your wrap doesn't squish your curls!

Updos Are Built To Last

We're going to say it again! Updos are typically the most reliable and sturdy choice of wedding day hairstyles. We especially recommend updos for hair types that don't love to hold a curl, that are prone to frizz, or have thinner hair. By choosing to wear your hair up, you won't have to worry about your curls falling or your ends frizzing! Every hair on your head will be fully secured and you can dance the night away knowing that your hairstyle will remain flawless until you're ready to take it down.

If your hair is able to hold a curl and tease perfectly all night long, then you can absolutely feel confident about wearing your hair down on your wedding day. While a fully-down hairstyle doesn't include all the pins and rubber bands, if you have the hair for it, then there's no need to stress about your wedding hairstyle falling.

Updo Options For Every Hair Type

There is a common misconception that in order to pull off an updo, you need to have long and thick hair. We're here to tell you that is totally not true! Updos are truly customizable and achievable for each and every hair type. If your hair is on the finer side and you are looking to achieve a full-bodied updo, don't fret, our artists have many tricks up their sleeves! Hair cushions and extensions are fabulous additions that will help create a strong base for your updo, and ultimately, provide you with the results you are looking to achieve.
